WhatsApp is returning to action globally as Meta rolls out a fix, resolving one of the most widespread and long-lasting snafus for the Facebook instant messaging and voice calling app that is used by over 2 billion people and millions of businesses worldwide.
The outage, which began at about 12.20 AM PT, according to user complaints, lasted for more than an hour and a half. WhatsApp didn’t share what caused the outage.
