The French giant IT company Sopra Steria said today in an official announcement that the ransomware Ryuk attack that took place in October will lead to large financial losses – from 40 million to 50 million dollars.

Sopra Steria is a European IT company with 46,000 employees in 25 countries, providing a wide range of IT services , including consulting, systems integration and software development.

“The restoration and the different levels of unavailability of the various systems from October 21 are expected to have serious negative effects on the company’s operating margin – between 40 million and 50 million euros,” said Sopra Steria. “The insurance coverage of the Group for cyber risks amounts to 30 million euros.”
