Hackers have violated the UNIFAST database

Η base data of Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UNIFAST) was violated by hackers.

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, chairman of the Senate’s Economic Affairs Committee, urged government agencies to submit immediately to the National Commission for Personal Data Protection (NPC) anyone unauthorized access in databases that contain personal information.

The data breach committed last March exposed the personal data of more than one million tertiary education candidates (TES).

The TES database containing the 1.130.899 applicant’s personal data – including the ID number, full name, date of birth, father / mother name and address of each student is accessible from malicious users from 16 March.
